Clay Douglass And His 83rd Cooking Secret: Grandma´s Pumpkin Pie November 11, 2010

For Thanksgiving, Clay Douglass recommends Grandma´s Pumpkin Pie. A homemade dessert that makes it easy to host a traditional thanksgiving meal with family and friends.

Ingredients: 1 cup of sugar (preferably brown), 1 can of pumpkin (ideal size 14 oz), 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of mace, 2  beaten eggs, 1/2 cup of low fat milk, 1/2 cup of cream, 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Instructions: Preheat oven at 450°F. Mix together in a large bowl sugar, salt, cinnamon, and mace. Then add the beaten eggs and the pumpkin and blend all together. Scald the milk and cream and then add to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients.. Bake for 20 minutes and then reduce heat to moderately slow oven , around 350°F and continue baking about 25 minutes more.
